Skills Hubs Chief Operating Officer Ian Montague, along with 2,000 other delegates, attended the Aged and Community Care Association’s National Conference in Adelaide last week. This year’s theme was, ‘the age of change’.
Many of the topics discussed align with the learnings of the Queensland Home Care Workforce Support Program (HCWSP), especially understanding the benefits of a diverse workforce and the need for efficiency in attraction and recruitment practices.
Skills Hubs continues to deliver the HCWSP Queensland in conjunction with Skills Generation and COTA Queensland. The conference provided an opportunity to connect with many of the Queensland providers and engage in valuable national conversations around reform, ageism and the Aged Care Taskforce.
Presenters and exhibitors had a strong workforce focus, demonstrating the ongoing importance of workforce in the care sector.
So far, the HCWSP has connected more than 1,900 people to work in the Home Care Sector. If you are involved in the attraction and recruitment of new workers in the aged home care sector in Queensland, please reach out to Skills Hubs to see how we can help.
